National Music Festival Held in Pittsburgh Sponsored By American Eagle Outfitters

By VisitPA August 11th, 2008

The popular clothing manufacturer, American Eagle Outfitters, based in Pittsburgh, sponsored a two-day music festival in the streets of the South Side this past weekend. Musicians who took part in the first New American Music Union Festival ranged from college bands to the legendary Bob Dylan. The festival started at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 8th with two stages and many food booths. College bands from all over the US gathered on the free stage for music loving Pittsburgh folks to enjoy. The main stage is where bands like The Roots and Gnarls Barkley played Friday and Saturday nights. Local restaurants Qdoba and Tusca sold their specialties to the hungry listeners and ticket holders sipped on free water out of their Nalgene water bottles complete with the New American Music Union logo. The weather was perfect for the festival and its safe to say the New American Music Union was a huge success.  What a great way to show the younger generation how hip Pittsburgh really is!

Just came across this post in January. I’m ready for some warm weather and music outside again.
