Pittsburgh’s Legendary Light-Up Night

By Mandy October 31st, 2008

In a few short weeks, Pittsburgh will be celebrating one of the most legendary nights in the city’s history. Light Up Night takes place on November 21st. That Friday night, Pittsburgh will be transformed into a magical sight for locals and visitors to enjoy. Light Up Night has one purpose and that is to kick off the holiday season in the Steel City. There will be a fireworks display at the Golden Triangle, shopping throughout the city and even concerts in Station Square. Most spectacular though, will be the sight from Mount Washington with the lights that will sparkle and twinkle from the downtown buildings. Several activities will be taking place including a scavenger hunt sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh Diabetes Institute and the Santa Spectacular Show where Santa will make his grand appearance. And don’t miss the famous window’s displays at Macys and the first skate of the season at the PPG rink.
